Earn for twelve months
Commission accrues when their invoice is paid. It becomes payable 30 days later, and payouts run monthly on the 15th.
The terms, in full
What earns commission
The customer's base monthly plan, at 25%, for twelve months from their first payment. That is the whole rule.
What does not
The one time onboarding fee, add on specialist seats, and any usage above a plan's included allowance. The onboarding fee pays for real hours of setup work, and the usage rates have costs behind them we have not finished measuring.
When you get paid
Commission accrues the day the customer's invoice clears. It becomes payable 30 days after that, and payouts run on the 15th of each month for everything payable by then. The 30 day hold exists because a Solo customer's first month is refundable in full, and asking you to send money back is a conversation nobody should have to have.
The $50 minimum
Under $50 rolls to the next month rather than being sent. Nothing is lost.
W-9 first
We need a W-9 on file before your first payout. Your commission accrues normally in the meantime and nothing about it expires. Non US partners file a W-8BEN and are paid by Wise.
If a customer refunds or charges back
That month's commission is reversed. If you have already been paid it comes off your next payout, and if no further payout is coming it is written off rather than invoiced back to you.
If the customer changes plan
Your commission follows the plan they are actually on. An upgrade raises it and a downgrade lowers it. The twelve month clock starts at their first payment and never resets, so a customer who cancels and comes back inside the year picks up where they left off.
If we change the rate
We give 30 days written notice, and every customer you have already referred keeps the rate that was in effect when they signed.
If either of us walks away
Either side can end this at any time in writing. Commission on customers you have already referred continues through their twelve months, except where the partnership ends for a breach of the conduct rules below.
What does not count as a referral
- •Your own business, or any business you own, control, or work for.
- •A business already in our CRM with activity in the last 90 days, including anyone who demoed with us at the National Business League booth.
- •A current or former HireWire customer.
We check all three before a referral is confirmed rather than after anyone has been paid, so nothing has to be unwound later.
Conduct rules
Breaking one of these ends the partnership and forfeits any commission not yet paid. They are short because they are all things that would embarrass both of us.
No income claims
Not doubled revenue, not guaranteed results, not an ROI figure. We have no performance data to stand behind yet, so there is nothing true to say. We hold ourselves to this too.
No invented proof
No testimonials, screenshots, or customer counts that did not happen.
Disclose that you are paid
The FTC requires it under 16 CFR Part 255. Approved wording is in your kit and it is one sentence.
No paid search on our name
Do not bid on HireWire, hirewirehq, or misspellings of either.
No spam
No scraped lists, no unsolicited texts, no purchased email lists.
Do not present yourself as us
No cloned pages, no official HireWire claims, no describing yourself as working here.
Do not sell what does not exist yet
Read the list below before your first introduction. Selling something we cannot deliver costs you the relationship, not us.
What HireWire does, and what it does not do yet
Read this before your first introduction. Being straight about the gaps is what keeps a referral from turning into an apology.
What it does today
- •Answers a real phone line on every plan.
- •Works inbound leads, chases estimates, and handles follow ups.
- •Trains on the customer's own documents.
- •Comes with a human onboarding call on Team and Agency.
What it does not do yet
- No OCR yet. A scanned PDF or a phone photo of a price sheet produces nothing. The customer needs real digital files. This is the single most likely thing to go wrong in a first session with exactly the kind of local business you are going to bring us, so say it early.
- Specialists are software, not people. Their output should be read before anyone relies on it. This is already on our own site and it needs to be in your introduction too.
- Recurring schedules are not proven. They are built and they are sold, but no customer has yet received a real deliverable from one. Do not demo one and do not promise one.
- Two specialists are not cleared for partner selling. Ingrid Halvorsen and Desmond Blake appear on our roster page, and until we confirm their claims have been verified, please leave both of them and the work they do out of anything you say or send.
